“I arrived for the exam on the OSCE day at 7am. After waiting several hours, my number was called and I went into the hall. I was a little nervous but I just tried to keep my cool and I told myself that I was ready. We had also prepared for some questions that were flying around, so I tried to be calm. The first shocker was that at my first station, there was a young doctor who asked my name and if I was afraid. I replied that I was just a little afraid. He then told me not to worry and that he understands that we have been there since 7am and it wasn’t fair to us students. He then told me to calm down and explained that whole station to me (zoonotic diseases) and told me that although I won’t be starting at that station (due to the simulation of the Oder), I should dwell on what he has shown me so when I get back there, I would know what to say😃😃😃😃. I was in shock, and this suddenly boosted my confidence. I went on to other stations and did my thing without any fear or doubt. Although the doctors in my cell didn’t go out of their way to help (except two doctors), they also weren’t mean to me. Most of them made little corrections to point me to exactly what was in their marking scheme. And some of them gave signs of approval by nodding their heads or giving a thumbs up after the exam. One thing for sure is that without GOD and the help of ACEMEDIX, it would have been almost impossible. I felt adequately prepared and knew almost everything that I saw at the OSCE.
